Nur

I founded Nur to meet a need that has too long gone unanswered: a digital space where Muslim women can gather not just socially, but spiritually. Rooted in our faith and open to the many paths we take through life, Nur is where Muslim women, wherever they are in the world, and whoever they may be, can come together in sisterhood, reflection, and growth. Here, they can explore their faith journey, share wisdom, and find support in an environment that truly understands their unique perspectives and challenges.
More than a social space, Nur aims to become a revival. It draws from the rich legacy of Islamic history and its many women scholars, seekers, and companions—those who shaped tradition not from its margins, but from its center. It’s an effort to reclaim that heritage, so Muslim women today can thrive in both deen and dunya, together.
We’re building Nur into a full-fledged, independently hosted platform—free from noise, shallow metrics, and compromises. What we’re creating is a place to learn, to be heard, to support and be supported—where Islam isn’t reduced or repackaged, but honored in all its beauty and depth. Beyond just being a media platform or space for socializing, Nur is grounded in a genuine commitment to accessibility, unity, and—above all—Islamic principles, to foster growth in our souls and society. Our mission is to help Muslim women become their best selves through an empowering, spiritually grounded space, so we can not only reconnect with divine light in our own lives, but carry it into the increasingly dark world around us. Nur’s logo is a sun for that reason: now more than ever, our communities—and the world around us—need that light. Let us, with the wisdom and faith we are blessed to inherit, honor the truth we carry by lighting the world with it.
Nur is still becoming. As we continue developing this vision into reality, you’re invited to join our growing Substack community, where you’ll receive weekly blog posts, have access to a community chat space, and get updates on our development.
